I'm sure most everyone has seen this letter floating around that is almost 19 years old at this point.  My question to the group, has anyone ever witnessed one of these old alarm panels having a circuit board failure that caused smoke and flame?  If so, was the root cause of the problem actually determined to be the circuit board itself?

    Cary,

If I remember correctly the potential risk was when the internal components overheated and there was years of dust/debris inside the rough in assembly.

I’ve never seen one fail in that manner.
